Hawks take First Place in District 228 Cupcake War

Hillcrest’s 1st place cupcake team: L.G. Williams, Sandra Walker, Andre Smith, & Eyani George

 Students enrolled in the Baking Basics class from each school in the district competed in a Cupcake War at Bremen High School on Wednesday, April 19th.  In honor of the the 2017 theme “Spring,” Hillcrest students created a bouquet of colorful flowers that were not only beautiful to look at but delicious too!    

For their hard-work and creativity, the Hawks team took home 1st place. Way to go Hawks!!!

The Cupcake War is an annual District 228 event designed to support the mission of the Baking Basics class: “Students will experience the delights of baking using various techniques and ingredients to prepare breads, cookies, cakes, pies, and other specialty items.”
