Hillcrest recently completed its celebration of Homecoming Week. This year’s theme was “Back to the Future” in recognition Hillcrest’s 50th Anniversary Year.

Events included Spirit Days like Pajama Day, Jersey Day, Color War Day, Dynamic Duo Day and Spirit wherein students and staff would dress up according to the day’s theme.

Additional events included the Powder Puff Game which pitted Junior and Senior Girls against each other in a flag football game, an evening bonfire, and pep assembly.

Friday night’s football games resulted in both the JV and Varsity teams defeating their intra-district rival, Bremen High School

The week culminated in Saturday’s dance where the Homecoming Court was announced:
Freshman Princess – Shawntee Wright
Sophomore Princess- Pearjiayra Coleman
Junior Princess – Peachshaiya Bailey
Prince – Derrick Watkins
Senior Queen – Armonie Easter
King – Jordan Moore

Of the week, Jane Molek, one of the Student Council Sponsors and Faculty Coordinators of Homecoming said, “”Thank you to all the students and staff for your spirited participation in the spirit days, attending the bonfire and powder puff game, and especially for showing your Hawk pride during the pep assembly and homecoming football game. It had been a tremendous week!”
