On June 17, 2016, the sequel of Finding Nemo, Finding Dory finally came out.  After about 13 years and many, many letters to the production team, they finally gave fans what they wanted. If you want a family movie, then you got the right movie.  It’s a movie for all ages and anyone can enjoy it.   From the saddest parts, that’ll make anyone cry, to the funniest parts, this movie is a true gem.

If I had to rate this movie, I would give this movie five stars!

The first reason I would give this movie five stars is the plot. Finding Dory has a great plot, and it is super fun to watch. The story line will really reel you in. This movie kind of picks up from where it last left off in the previous movie, Finding Nemo, everything is fine, and they’re at the fish school.  After a while, things start to go awry, and Dory begins to have flash backs. She slowly starts to remember details about her parents and how she got separated from them.  However, as soon as she remembers something, she forgets it moments later.  This frustrates her, but she still “keeps swimming” on to find her parents.  She swims across the whole Pacific Ocean, with the help of Nemo and Marlin, and gets into trouble along the way. Throughout these obstacles, she finds new friends and old friends to help her reach her destination.

The second reason I would give this movie five stars is the characters.  My favorite character in this movie is Dory. I love Dory because she is extremely funny and even though she facies adversity, she still keeps a positive attitude. She’s such a lovable character, and I’m positive that anyone who watches this movie will agree. My second favorite character in this movie is Marlin. I like him because even though the things he says may hurt other people, he genuinely does not mean it. In fact, I believe he realizes his errors and tries to fix them. This in turn, makes him grow into a better father for Nemo.  My third favorite character is Fred. I like him because he is very funny and he’s perfect for the comedic relief.  This movie is packed with many great characters, and it wouldn’t be hard to find a favorite.

And finally, the last reason I would give this movie five stars is because of the music. I believe that music is extremely important in movies.  It can make you cry, get angry, and happy all at the same time. For example, when baby Dory got separated from her parents, my friends and I cried our eyes out, but when Dory finally remembers her parents, we all were happy.  The timing of the music is also important as well. It gave many clues as to what was coming up throughout the movie.

In other words, this is the perfect movie to wrap up this year. It’s a great movie to curl up on the couch with your family by the fireplace, so this movie is a must-watch, and if you haven’t watched it, you need to, and if you did, you should re-watch it.

In conclusion, Finding Dory is a five star movie and you should watch it.  And if you don’t believe me, Rotten Tomatoes gave this movie 94%.
