The NBA is back and better than ever before. Last year’s 2015-2016 season was historical when the Golden State Warriors broke the 1995 Chicago Bulls record of 72-10, managing to beat the record by one more game won leaving the Warriors with a record of 73-9. So many believed that Golden State was poised to win the NBA championship leaving them as one of the greatest teams ever to have graced the sport. Sadly, the Golden State Warriors dreams were crushed by the LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Both teams fought down to the final buzzer of Game 7, ultimately the game was decided by the Cavs superstar point guard, Kyrie Irving.

For the first time in 20 years you will no longer see Kobe Bryant or Tim Duncan in a NBA uniform. Both have retired, Kobe announced on November 30, 2015 that it is his final season in a NBA uniform. Kobe Bryant has played for the NBA for 20 seasons. From the moment of his announcement. every second Kobe was on the court was spectacular. Fans from around the world were traveling from different parts of the world to witness Kobe just once. Now, we fast forward to the end of the season, Bryant’s final game is approaching against the Utah Jazz. Kobe came out that night and poured 60 points, breaking the record for most points in a retirement game. Leaving everything he had on the Los Angeles Lakers court finishing the best way he could saying, “Mamba out”. Another future hall of famer, Tim Duncan left the grace of the NBA. Duncan didn’t announce his like fellow player, Kobe. Instead he left quietly, just how most would’ve expected Duncan to do. Throughout his career, he never was a player who showed out, just a very humble guy. Both have combined for 10 NBA championships, 3 MVPs, and 33 all-star game appearances.

Nonetheless, we have arrived to the NBA free agency, where some of the most shocking trades will occur. Dwayne wade has spent all of his career playing for the Miami Heat, not until he decided to play for his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls. The choice of Dwayne Wade joining the Chicago Bulls, was all of Miami’s fault. Dwayne Wade has been taking pay cuts to help receive players since the beginning of his career, all he asked for was a little extra pay. Miami Heat team President, Pat Riley waited too long to negotiate and Dwayne left the team. Chicago may have gained Dwayne Wade, but lost former 2011 MVP Derrick Rose to the New York Knicks. Derrick Rose has sat out of many games due to injury, last season he managed to play 66 games. Tons of critics believe this is Rose’s second chance to show the league why he was the league MVP at one point in his career. The most important free agent pickup has to be the acquisition of 2014 MVP, Kevin Durant, to the Golden State Warriors. Durant is one of the most dominant scorers the league has seen in a very long time. Recently, Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder reached the Western Conference finals, against his new team. The Warriors beat the Thunder, to go on the NBA finals. That lost made Durant want to leave

This season the fans will no longer see Kobe or Tim Duncan. All of the league’s star players are on different teams. We are entering the season with the Cavs as our 2016 NBA champions. Last but not least, we will see who will take the Title!.
