Hillcrest African Student Association Announces Origins Fair: The Sequel

The Hillcrest African Student Association proudly invites community members to their Origins Fair on Tuesday, 2/28/17 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. in Hillcrest’s Back Gym.

This free event designed to celebrate African and African-American excellence and promote pride will feature traditional African foods, live entertainment including a performance by the Hillcrest Poms team, games focused on African culture and history, and raffles of interesting prizes.

The Origins Fair was held for the first time last year primarily under the direction of then-seniors Autumn Clemons and Moriam Yarrow, and its success encouraged the African Student Association under the direction of teacher Ms. Dina Brown and ASA student leaders Oluwatosin Otabor, President and Lisa Nyamusevya, Vice President to continue the tradition.

Focusing on encouraging people to be comfortable with who they are and nurturing the dignity of diversity, the ASA plans an entertaining and informative fair and hopes you will attend.
