A creation from Mrs. Sweeney’s Baking Basics class.

Students at Hillcrest High School in Mrs. Sweeney’s Baking Basics classes were baking up some Holiday Spirit and creative designs this week.  The students successfully completed their cake decorating assessment with creativity and skill.  The students worked in groups of 2 or 3 to complete the assessment.

Collin Miller and Renisia Thurman made a christmas tree and presents out of cupcakes in Mrs. Sweeney’s Baking Basics class.

They demonstrated the following skills: safety and sanitation, workmanship, decorating skills, theme application, attractiveness, cake presentation, time management and work station organization.

Trinity Wilson, Rickiesha Echoles, & RJanai Griffin show of their cupcake poinsettia made in Mrs. Sweeney’s Baking Basics class.

Mrs. Sweeney said of her students, they “were so proud of their work, as they should be. They indicated how much fun it was to complete the assessment”
