Students Participate in Global Youth Service Day
April 24, 2018
Hillcrest Freshman Leadership students joined forces with students from Andrew and Homewood Flossmoor High Schools to sort and hang clothing for the Orland Bridge Teen Center.
On Saturday, April 7th, from 9 AM to noon, students from the three schools volunteered to assist the Center with their Spring Cleaning Clothing Drive. Gently used clothing was collected at the three buildings and delivered to the center, where students sorted, folded and hung the clothes ready to be sold at the Teen Center’s thrift store. Profits from the thrift store help fund the non-profit center and the student programs it provides to community teens.
“This is my fourth year participating in Global Youth Service Day with my leadership students – giving back to the community is important to me, and I’m glad that I can share this opportunity with my students- they always do such a good job,” said Freshman Class Sponsor Julie Kirk, Hillcrest High School
