Christmas has always been my favorite ever since I was young. The decorations lighting up every house, the hot chocolate flavored everything and the happiness I feel during the holiday season is unmatched. What makes Christmas especially meaningful is the time I get to spend with my family. We all gather together, creating memories that we will cherish for years to come. Christmas gives us all a reason to meet up and see each other. When my family and I are together, we are always laughing and having fun.
One of the most cherished traditions in my family is that my grandmother gives all the grandchildren pajamas on Christmas Eve. Sometimes, we’re all matching which is always so fun. Even as I get older, I always look forward to getting her gift. On Christmas morning, my sisters and I wait for each other to wake up before we open anything. We always open one present at a time to keep the suspense going. We always indulge in our favorite holiday treats. Hot chocolate is a must and we usually buy the Abuelita hot chocolate because it tastes much better. We also enjoy homemade cookies, usually baked the night before. The house always smells so good because of the food we make on Christmas Day. These small rituals make the day feel even more special and bring our family closer together.
One of the things I enjoy most about Christmas is the opportunity to give gifts. There is something incredibly rewarding about picking out presents for my family and friends, especially when I choose something that I know they will love. I take great care in selecting gifts, sometimes picking something that they might never expect, and watching their reactions when they open it is always the highlight. The joy and surprise on their faces makes me happy and feel like I did a good job.
Christmas has always been about togetherness for my family. The joy of sharing these moments, the laughter, the food, the presents, and the love, all come together to make this holiday my absolute favorite. It’s the one time of the year when we can pause from our busy lives and truly appreciate the company of those we care about. This year, I look forward to it and I’ve spent so much money but I hope my family likes their gifts.
