Hillcrest’s very own, Ogechi Oparah, is named winner for Best of School at the South Suburban College Regional High School Art Exhibit!

I didn’t have an appreciation for the arts until I took Advanced Placement Studio Art.

— Ogechi Oparah ('15)

“Ogechi has always been a dedicated member of the Art Society.  He didn’t know he was a natural artist until I placed him in his first art class, AP Studio Art.  He began researching various art techniques and artists and found a niche with using spray paint.  He is still working to make his art pieces even more original,” said Fine Arts Teacher Mrs. Jamilah Adebesin Mason.

Ogechi was recently accepted to the University of Illinois at Chicago and hopes to become a surgeon.

Hillcrest staff and students want to thank Ogechi for his dedication to our school.
