My Black Panther Experience

The movie Black Panther is another Marvel movie, which is one of my favorite movies of all time. I remember when the movie first came out earlier this year. I remember everybody talking about going to see the movie in theaters. Now, me, I didn’t even know what the movie was about nor did I want to go see it, but almost everybody went to see it, and they gave some good and bad criticism. I believe the reason why I didn’t go was because I didn’t like Marvel movies. I never actually took the time to sit down and watch one either. I just never liked the idea of superheroes and super-villains. I just thought that was all so corny, or so I thought.

Fast forward to this school year, my senior year in high school. My LAST year attending Hillcrest High School as a student. The week of Homecoming coming rolled around and all of the hallways were decorated with a Marvel theme. The seniors hallway was decorated with ‘Black Panther” pictures and colors. I thought our hallway was pretty cute and all, but I still haven’t seen the movie, so I had no idea what scenes the pictures represented. So fast forward a little bit more, more like the day before Homecoming, Friday. My 2nd period teacher Mrs. Youngberg had never seen the movie either and their were a couple of other students in addition to me who hadn’t seen it either. So she suggested that since we had finished our project yesterday and that it was only a handful of kids in the class that we just watch the movie in honor of our Homecoming theme.

We ended up watching about 30 mins of the movie before the bell rang. I was real mad because the movie was actually good or it was getting good. So I told myself in my head that since it was on Netflix that I would watch it when I got home. So the whole day went by super slow, literally, and the whole time I was like I’m going to watch this movie when I get home. Since I only have a 2-7 the day didn’t go by that slow, but it was still pretty slow. So when my 7th period ended at 2:10, I literally ran to my locker to get my homework and ran to my granddad’s car, so he could take me home.

When I got home I changed clothes and got comfortable in my bed and logged into my Netflix account on my phone. I resumed watching the movie from where we left off in class. When I finished the movie I was amazed at home much I liked it. I never thought in a million years that me of all people would be watching a Marvel movie and actually liked it at that. I liked it so much that I re-watched it over and over again. I would like to say that I watched that movie about 25 times in one day. Once Saturday had came I would like to say that I watched it about 50 times, like that movie was so addicting.

In conclusion, I really love that movie, it’s my favorite of all time. If you haven’t seen it I highly recommend that you do. One of my first and favorite Marvel movies.
