Most people have heard of the drama series, All American. Some watched until the last season and some didn’t. There has been some controversy about the show. Most people, like me, enjoy the show but others seem as if the show is being dragged. People feel as if the show coming back for another season is unnecessary. In my lifetime, I have watched All American 4 times and I’m currently watching it again recently. I was introduced to the show through my cousin and at first, I thought I wasn’t going to like it. The top characters in the show are Spencer, Olivia, Laura, Billy, Coop, Layla, Jordan, Dillon, and Asher. The first episode prepares you for the rest of the show. 

In All American, there is a boy from Crenshaw named Spencer James who goes through the process of growing up without a father and that comes from poverty who gets scouted by a football coach not knowing the coach has a history with his mother. Most people from Crenshaw don’t get an opportunity like Spencer did and he’s not used to stuff being handed to him. He handles everything with anger and doesn’t properly know how to communicate himself without using violence. The person he’s really upset with is his father. The absence of his father eventually gets out and he finds out the real reason his father left. That’s a summary on how season 1 plays out. 

As the seasons progresses, Spencer meets some friends in Beverly and they turn into lifelong friends. A significant moment would have to be in season 2 when Spencer gets shot.  His best friend Coop back in Crenshaw is caught up in a gang which leads Spencer to get shot. Shawn was initially both Spencer and Coop’s friend but Shawn didn’t take a chance on himself to be good at something. He ended up dying due to being a member of a gabg. Spencer struggles and faces a lot of obstacles but they make him who he is today.

What makes the show great?

The stories, the drama, and most importantly the music makes the show great for me. I like shows that keep me off the edge of my seat and All American does just that. I like how the show is based on a real football player named Spencer Playsinger. The soundtrack playlist in the show makes the show 10 times better to me, I really love the songs.

Update on All American: The newest season, which is season 6, will air on April 4th on the CW. I’m excited to see where we left off from and what this new season has in stock for us fans of the show. As for predictions, I feel as if Spencer and Olivia will eventually get back together but will face challenges. Spencer is going to go to the NFL and marry Olivia. Olivia is Spencer’s ex-girlfriend but I will call her his “day one” as he states in the show. They are currently not together because they started their relationship on a rough patch but they are hanging in there.
