Fashion Nova: #4 Most Googled Brand

Danielle Brownlow, Staff Writer

Fashion Nova’s prices may be low, but the women’s clothing line did big numbers this year.

According to Google’s Year In Search data from 2017, which was published today, Fashion Nova was the fourth most searched fashion brands in the United States, ranking just after Supreme and before behemoth fashion houses like Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, and Christian Dior.

If you’ve never heard of Fashion Nova, you certainly know its fans, or “shmoney gang,” as Cardi B likes to say. Celebrities like Kylie Jenner, Amber Rose, Blac Chyna, and of course, Cardi B have all promoted the brand on their social-media feeds, which explains its high online traffic. For example, when Kylie Jenner posted an ad for the brand last year saying how she was “obsessed” with her Fashion Nova jeans, the post received over 2 million likes. According to a (Vice interview) with Fashion Nova’s founder and CEO, Richard Saghian, the brand has around 3,000 to 5,000 additional influencers in its Rolodex as well. (thecut.com)

Cardi B in particular likes to support Fashion Nova, because the brand supported her back when few other high-fashion brands would. “Shoes: $1,200 dollars. Glasses, like $400 dollars. But girl, my outfit? $20 dollars,” Cardi B says in one of her early viral Fashion Nova posts. “Learn how to budget,” she adds. While brands like Dolce & Gabbana also have a gaggle of Millennial influencers at their beck and call, it’s hard to compete with #content like that. According to (thecut.com)

Lots of girls like Fashion Nova, it’s like one of the coolest clothing sites, they have cute clothes, and nice accessories. I myself personally don’t anyone who doesn’t like Fashion Nova.

I recommend any girl to check the site out. Most female love it such as Cardi B, Toya Wright, Reginae Carter, Kylie Jenner, & Amber Rose; the site is really amazing.

Los Angeles-based brand Fashion Nova claimed fourth spot. The affordable label developed a huge following this year after receiving long-term co-signs from the likes of Amber Rose, Blac Chyna, and Kylie Jenner.

Fashion Nova has completed quite a feat coming in at number four. A favorite of Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Cardi B, this newcomer is certainly gaining more ground than we ever could have imagined. Alongside the celebrity endorsements, Fashion Nova did endure its share of controversy this year — once for allegedly using size 2 models to promote plus-size clothing — that may have contributed to the spike in search traffic. Shocked as we might be, we’re chalking it all up to the Kardashian effect. (teenvouge.com)

Nicki Minaj loves to include Fashion Nova for a high-low mix, often wearing the brand’s jeans with her quilted jumbo Chanel bags. Amber Rose and Blac Chyna, too have been spotted in the brand’s slinky wares. It isn’t a stretch to say Fashion Nova speaks to people typically excluded from fashion, and perhaps that’s the secret to their success. Even the major gossip Instagram account, The Shade Room, is always documenting who is wearing the latest Fashion Nova, posting when the website is having a sale, prompting followers to shop but save some “schmoney” (Cardi B’s word), in the process. (refinery29.com)

Who really would have thought one of the most successful clothing brands this year, did it all without an expensive celebrity-filled fashion campaign or spread in a magazine?
