Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Basketball Team who clinched first place in the South Suburban Conference Blue with a 66-37 win over TF South.

Danielle Wright led all scorers with 23 points and Trinity Duckworth added 18.

The conference awards were announced this weekend and four Lady Hawks were named to the all-conference first team.

They are: Senior Danielle Wright, who is also this week’s Daily Southtown Player of the Week; Senior Cam McMahan; Junior Kierra Williamson; and Sophomore Trinity Duckworth, who was named the SSC Blue Player of the Year.

The Lady Hawks begin state playoff competition at Rich Central High School tonight against conference rival Oak Forest. Tipoff is at 7:30.
