It’s not a secret that Squid Game is one of the most popular TV shows out there right now. If you haven’t watched it then you’re either living under a rock or you need some more convincing before you sit down to watch all 10 episodes of the show.

The show is about a group of 456 people that are in serious debt and desperate for money. They are “lured” into a game based on survival where they have the chance to walk about with 45.6 billion which is around $39 million in US dollars if they win a series of six games (that they played as kids). The show takes a shocking turn when the characters find out that if you lose you die/are killed and that only one person can be victorious. The characters face many hardships throughout the show all fighting for the one thing they came there for — the cash. 

Squid Game was written/directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk. He pitched this show to many different networks for 10 years until Netflix decided to pick it up. The show is very popular and it is Netflix’s most-watched show in 90 countries. The games played on the show have sparked many recreations online and people are obsessing over it. One of the games is the Dalgona cookie game, it is a fragile caramelized sugar candy that has a shape pressed into it that the players have to cut out with a needle without breaking the shape and within 10 minutes. Some people have even gone as far as to recreate all the games with real-life players just like the show with the exception of the killing part. This show has got many people wishing they were a part of it.

I think that it is an amazing show and that it deserves a second season (which is in the works). It shows that people will do almost anything when they are desperate which relates a lot to the real world. The show itself is overall something fun to watch that I recommend to everyone.

That leaves the question that I’m sure everyone is wondering is: Who wins the money, or is there even a winner?
