This year’s homecoming theme was Casino Royale. The dress up days were: Casino/# Day, Generation Day, Dress to Impress Day, Black Out Day, and Spirit Day.

On Monday September 29, 2014, there was a DJ in the cafeteria and students turned up!  The DJ played various artists like Mindless Behavior, Tishane, Shmoney, and Cali Swag District. During fifth period Raja Matthews went up to the DJ and challenged the DJ to a “dougie” match. The DJ said, “No one can out ‘dougie’ me.” The challenge started and Raja won! Everyone was cheering for her.

September 2nd was “generation day.” Seniors had to dress like senior citizens; juniors had to dress like the thirty-year-olds; sophomores had to dress like toddlers; freshman had to dress like babies; and staff had to dress like teenagers.

On September 3rd, it was “dress to impress day,” everyone was impressive and on September 4th, was “black out day” and the Powder Puff Game. Everyone was supposed to wear all black. The annual football challenge occurred at the assembly. There were senior female football players vs. female junior football players, and the guys were cheerleaders. During halftime, they announced the homecoming royalty for all grades.

Friday, September 4th, was the spirit day and the pep rally. Students and staff were wearing their Hillcrest Hawk shirts and the school colors; navy and Columbia blue, white, and black colors. The cheerleaders, poms, flag, and majorettes performed. The Hillcrest Band performed Fancy by Iggy Azalea.

Lastly, on October 5th was the homecoming dance. DJ phantom spun his tracks while the students had a good time dancing, taking photos, and eating cookies.  It was a great night and one to remember forever.

If you missed it, be sure to attend next year!
